Our 100th building anniversary plays a part in our donation drive!
As we continue to celebrate the 100th year of our building, we recognize the emphasis of Grace on social justice and meeting the needs around us. Grace supports Community Emergency Services (CES), which provides a variety of services to anyone in need. One service CES provides is The Neighborhood Food Shelf. In 2015, The Neighborhood Food Shelf served more than 80,000 client contacts and distributed 516,000 pounds of food. Each afternoon, Monday through Thursday, 20-35 people with food needs are interviewed. A Wednesday evening session provides food shelf hours to make it more accessible for working people, who are an increasing percentage of CES’s clientele.
To support CES and honor 100 years of presence here, we would like to collect 100 of the most needed items each month remaining during our celebration. Three of CES’s greatest needs are small bottles of vegetable oil, canned chicken, and 5 lb. bags of flour. So, let’s see if we can meet this goal:
March—100 small bottles of vegetable oil
April—100 cans of chicken
May—100 5 lb. bags of flour
Bring your donations to the freestanding altar in the Sanctuary.
We will also accept donations of other needed items! Visit cesmn.org or our website, graceattheu.org, to see a full list of items needed.
Thank you for helping us reach this goal and witnessing to our continuing emphasis on reaching out to anyone in need.
