Tuesday, February 21, 7:00-8:30 pm at University Lutheran Church of Hope (601 13th Ave. SE)
What does it mean to grow up masculine in our society and culture? Last spring our congregations viewed the documentary The Mask You Live In. This film follows boys and young men as they struggle to stay true to themselves while negotiating America’s narrow definition of masculinity. Grace, Hope, Lutheran Campus Ministry and Cherish All Children are planning an event to deepen the conversation with a community panel and discussion on toxic messaging and behavior, and the ways we can support healthy masculinity. This will be a valuable discussion about our role in counteracting cultural barriers to healthy relationships. We hope you can attend and invite others. If you haven’t already, consider viewing this important documentary (available on Netflix…a copy is available in the church office at Grace).
