Grace’s Endowment Fund Dividends Are Having Significant Impact
All Grace members are encouraged to consider submitting requests for Grace Endowment Fund Grants for 2026. Please submit your applications before June 15. (Forms available in the church office or download one here – or contact the office: info@graceattheu.org.)
In the past two years, $27,000 in Endowment Fund grants have been distributed. Recipients have included: MIGIZI, San Pablo Congregation – ELCA, Minneapolis; Action for Health Care in the Americas; the ELCA Fund for Leaders; the Undo Medical Debt Program; Global Refuge (formerly LIRS); Makoce Ikikcupi (Land Recovery); and All Nations Indian Church – UCC, Minneapolis. The goal is to make $12,000 available for grants for 2026.
In addition, in response to the crisis caused by current immigration enforcement policies, this year the Church Council authorized a transfer of $10,000 in available endowment dividends to the Grace Good Samaritan Fund. This fund is primarily administered by the Pastors in response to needs that arise with individuals and families that the Pastors are assisting in various ways.
On March 11, the Church Council voted to distribute an additional $15,000 in grants of $5,000 each to The Minneapolis Area Synod’s “Welcome Fund”, to Community Emergency Service in Minneapolis, and to Zion Lutheran Church in St. Paul’s Hamline-Midway Area for their ongoing food support ministries. All three efforts are responding to the current crisis in multiple ways.
Contact the Endowment Fund Committee with your grant applications for 2026. The Endowment Committee Chair is Jon Buuck, dabuucks@gmail.com, 952-240-8765.
The committee and the Church Council urge all Grace members to consider current and/or future contributions to the Grace Endowment Fund. The Endowment fund is one way to ensure a long-lasting legacy and impact for Grace Church in our community. Contact members of the Endowment Committee for more details.
