As a member congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), Grace supports established Lutheran organizations throughout the world that are doing good work where it is most needed. You are invited to make a special gift to one of these organizations, either through Grace or directly to the organization on it’s webpage.
If you wish to give through Grace, you can make a check out to Grace University Lutheran Church and put the organization’s name in the memo, and collected funds will be sent in a timely manner. You can also do this in a “Special Offering” envelope available at Grace, where you can insert your cash or check and indicate the receiver.
Otherwise, please go directly to the organization’s website and give online. Here are current possibilities:
Lutheran Disaster Response: Lutheran Disaster Response brings God’s hope, healing and renewal to people whose lives have been disrupted by disasters in the United States and around the world. When the dust settles and the headlines change, we stay to provide ongoing assistance to those in need. Learn more.
Lutheran World Relief (LWR): LWR is a non-profit organization that works with local partners to provide lasting solutions to poverty, injustice and human suffering. They also respond to crisis situations. To give directly to help alleviate suffering in the Syrian refugee crisis, go here: LWR Refugee Crisis. Otherwise, visit their home page to learn more about LWR’s work in the world: lwr.org
ELCA World Hunger: Working with and through our congregations, in the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands Lutheran churches overseas and other partners, ELCA World Hunger is uniquely positioned to reach communities in need. From health clinics to microloans, water wells to animal husbandry, community meals to advocacy, your gifts to ELCA World Hunger make it possible for the ELCA to respond, supporting sustainable solutions that get at the root causes of hunger and poverty.
