Grace Time: Sunday Morning Faith Formation
September 7, 2025 – May 17, 2026 | 9:00 – 9:50 a.m.
Rooted in the arts, play, education, justice, and service, this ministry creatively engages children, youth, and families in a variety of faith formation and community-building activities.
ALL CONGREGATIONAL GATHERING
All Ages | Location TBD
Throughout the year children, youth and adults are invited to engage in service projects, explore worship practices, delve into social justice initiatives, and celebrate holidays together.
EARLY CHILDHOOD
Infants – PreK | Early Childhood Room
Children from infants to PreK are invited to engage in a time of self-selected play, circle time, music and movement, stories, etc., as they discover that they are loved by God and the Grace community. Staff and volunteers help our youngest children navigate healthy social-emotional skills as they care for their needs, supervise age-appropriate play, explore stories, and create a welcoming space.
ELEMENTARY
Kindergarten – Grade 4 | Youth Lounge
Elementary students will explore key stories from the Older Testament, Advent, Lent, worship practices, and social justice. These students will enjoy self-selected activities (STEM, art, imaginative play, games, etc.), sacred stories, and the arts.
TWEENS
Grades 5 – 6 | Library
Students in grades 5-6 are invited to participate in Bibliodrama, creatively interpreting and reimagining New Testament stories via drama, writing, Legos, art, and STEM materials. In the spring, students will identify and research a justice initiative to share with the congregation via devised theatre.
CONFIRMATION
Grades 7 – 8 | The Graduate Hotel Lobby (meet at Grace and walk over together)
This year, students will partner with leaders to explore Lutheran theology and practices. Confirmands are welcome to bring beverages, snacks, and card games to Grace Time. Confirmands will also participate in one day-long Sunday retreat in the spring.
YOUTH GROUP
Grades 9 – 12 | The Graduate Hotel Lobby (meet at Grace and walk over together)
Students are invited to learn how mystics, saints, and people throughout scripture engaged in faith-based principles and practices that impacted their lives and communities. Students will explore ways they can implement these principles and practices into the world and their communities today. Students are welcome to bring beverages, snacks, and card games to Grace Time.
CAREGIVER CONNECTION
Adults | Peace Chapel
During Grace Time programming, caregivers of children and youth are invited to gather in the Peace Chapel to connect with one another. Brew coffee, make tea, enjoy conversations, and build community. This group is intended to be self-sufficient.
